Chris Isaacson
Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer
Based in Kansas City, Chris Isaacson is responsible for running and integrating the global operations of the company, including oversight of all technology and operations, risk and information security, the trade desk, infrastructure, and data and analytics. Isaacson also oversees Cboe's expansion into digital assets with the Cboe Digital team, chairing the Cboe Digital board, as well as the Cboe Futures Exchange (CFE),and serving as a director on the Cboe Australia and Cboe Japan board of directors. He is passionate about leadership development and sponsors Cboe's leadership development program, Cboe Leads.
Promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2019, Isaacson has helped Cboe scale into a truly global market infrastructure provider with recent expansions and integrations in North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. Isaacson joined Cboe in 2017 as Chief Information Officer during the company's acquisition of Bats Global Markets leading the migration of all Cboe markets to new, leading-edge technology and operations. A founding Bats employee, he played a major role in developing the firm into an innovative, world-class technology and markets powerhouse, leading expansion into multiple asset classes and geographies through both organic initiatives and numerous successful M&A integrations.
He was also instrumental in the architecture and implementation of the original Bats trading platform while starting and overseeing operations and working closely with customers trading on Bats. Previously, Isaacson was a software developer at Tradebot Systems, a broker-dealer. He began his career as a software engineer at Cerner Corp., a healthcare information systems supplier.
Isaacson holds a Bachelor of Science in information systems with a minor in math from Nebraska Wesleyan University, and was a two-time Academic All-American as a decathlete. He also holds an MBA from the Raikes School of Computer Science and Management at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. He holds Series 4, 7, 24, 27, 55, 63 and 65 licenses.
